I've been thinking of getting the Pentax Optio W10 because it has a cool time lapse mode and also happens to be waterproof.

There is a Canadian Underwater retailer based in Vancouver that sells both cameras and underwater housings. http://www.housingcamera.com
This way you can use your camera underwater and outside as well.
You can get a camera and housing from around 250$. Since you are from Toronto , shipping should be high as well.

The Olympus Stylus 720SW. Check with henrys.com - his store is in Toronto. I've bought several items from him on ebay. I recommend him highly.
