No. there is nothing in the Bible that talks about it. For my JW friends however, they have built their false doctrine around it. Unfortunately, they are wrong for many reasons.
1.First the passage in Leviticus is about eating blood of animals, primarily those for sacrifice.
2. If it is still a commandment, then I can assure you that every JW broke it. Who hasn't tasted their own blood as a kid when getting a small cut, nose bleed etc. That would make them guilty.
3. No JW can convince me that at some point in their life, they have not eaten a hamburger or some meat that was not 100% fully cooked and blood free. Guilty.
4. It is absolutely amazing to me that JW's have actually let their own children DIE before allowing a blood transfusion!!
5. We are not under the law, but grace, yet the JW's have made it law. Well, I got news for them...they better keep ALL the law, if they feel that will gain them righteousness. In that they haven't and can't then they are lost....Only Christ's shedding of his blood has set us free from the law.

I believe the Bible only speaks against drinking blood. I myself am a blood donor. I do this for many reasons. First, I have good clean blood, plus it can be transfused with babies. But, more than this I realize that my blood can help some one live longer to get the blood that will make them live forever. In short it is a poor reflection of something much greater.

The Bible says (somewhere) to 'abstain from' blood, which since blood transfusions didn't exist when it was written, obviously means 'don't drink it'. People in the desert, on the verge of dying from thirst, might well consider drinking things they wouldn't normally, and drinking blood would have the same effect as drinking sea water.
Some people - most notably the Jehovah's Witnesses - claim that it does refer to blood transfusions, and have even produced a load of propaganda about transfusions being dangerous to back it up. I am a blood donor and I do part-time work as a doctor's assistant, and I say they should be ignored at all costs.

There is nothing wrong with receiving a blood transfusion. Both I and my newborn received blood during an urgent C-section delivery. That was 17 years ago.
There are no specific mandates about blood, other than against eating bloody meat. See Leviticus 7:26 and 27 (in context, read Lev. 7:25-27).
Leviticus 7:25-27 (King James Version) For whosoever eateth the fat of the beast, of which men offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, even the soul that eateth it shall be cut off from his people.
26 Moreover ye shall eat no manner of blood, whether it be of fowl or of beast, in any of your dwellings.
27 Whatsoever soul it be that eateth any manner of blood, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.
God was okay with us then, and is still okay with us today.
Please be aware that there are religions whose doctrine instructs differently.
Hope I helped. God bless you. †
hghostinme is correct. That God is instructing us to not eat (or drink) blood is understood.

Well the Bible does state if you keep the whole law yet offend in one point you become guilty of all. So I would say probably the majority of the people don't have to worry because we blow it probably within the first hour after we get out of bed anyways.Take care and may God bless you spiritually.

No, The life is in the blood. If you take away the blood, the life is taken away. But giving of one's blood to save the life of another is one of the greatest of all gifts because it is an act of love. Christ gave His blood so that the world could be cleansed and made whole and pure as He is pure and without receiving His blood there is no forgivness of sins. This was an act of his unconditional love to you and me...

nothing in the bible directly relates to the transfusion of blood, since it didn't exist 2000 years ago.
As for rules regarding blood you cannot touch a menstruating woman, you are not to drink the blood of animals, you are to bleed any animal sacrifices in the proper manner (too many rules on this and none of them matter since you cannot do animal scarifies due to laws and the fact sacrifice was only allowed in the temple of Jerusalem, which doesn't exist anymore.
Considering that the sacrament of communion transforms wine into the blood of christ to purge you of sins, I would gather that the blood of your fellows would be allowed to save your life.

Nothing in the Bible says you should, or should not donate blood or refuse a blood transfusion, so the decision is completely up to you.
