Chardonnay is a grape varietal.
Chablis is a region in northern Burgundy and a wine made from 100% Chardonnay grapes.
Most Chardonnay wines are a blend, but a true Chablis is 100% Chard.

Chablis is a type of wine. Chardonnay is a variety of grape.
Chablis can be made with Chardonnay grapes.
Both can be from very dry to sweet.
Edit: I bow to the correct answers, I was not thinking clearly. In the USA most of what is labeled Chablis is any white wine as the French appellations are not enforced. For instance, Burgundy just means red wine. Unless imported of course.

Chablis is the most northern region in France most chablis (whites) are made from Chardonnay grapes. As for dryness. any wine can be made off dry or sweeter but Chardonnay is almost always made Dry.

chablis is made with the chardonnay grape, as a general rule, french wines are drier than their american counterparts.
