I grew up in Houston Texas which is on the edge of the Big Thicket which flows into Lousisana but is Mostly in East Texas. There some parts get up to 55" of rain and there is rare plants/soil/trees etc.. Pine (pinus in latin) or evergreen is the dominant species..the forest is sooo thick with blackberry, smilax, poison ivy, scrub oak etc..and numerous other plants, you can barely enter.
