You can find an obituary for an older relative at www.lds.org. Do a search by social security number and name on us search.com. You can get some information there without paying for it. Also, if you know where his parents lived you can do a web search of obituaries in their local paper. Consider writing letters to Social Security location services,6401 Security Boulevarde,Baltimore, MD 21235. with a request that they foreward a letter to your father for "humanitarian Purposes" Be sure to include his full name, Social Security Number and any information you are sure of-Age,Military service etc. Include a letter explaining your situation. Send the letter within a letter because you don't want to seal your letter as they will need to read it to see if it qualifies for "humanitarian Purposes". It's worth a try. Also consider sending a letter the exact same way(not sealed, explaining your situation etc,) to the IRS "office of disclosure" and ask them to foreward the enclosed letter to your father- The Humanitarian rule applies and you must be the next of kin. Also try The National Personnel Records Center,9700 Page Boulevard, St.Louis, MO 63132. Or if you have an old address you could send it with " Address Correction Requested" written on the envelope-This might be a good idea if you can get his parents or cousins address. If you can get a family member who is sympathetic on your side that can help alot too. The more people you have looking besides yourself the better. Another thing-if you think you know what town he or a relative is living in-You can always put an add in the local paper there asking for any information on your dad-if that doesn't get a responce, write another add to the same newspaper stating that he has inherited(or something like that) some money and needs to be found in order to collect it. Play on his greed if you have too. I hope this has helped you. I'll continue to look for more ideas so if you want to keep in touch, go to my profile and you can E-mail me if you want to. Good Luck and Merry Christmas.!!

My deadbeat deserting sperm donor of a dad found me a few years back by hiring a private investigator. Doesn't cost a lot and they know exactly what resources to use to find someone.
PeopleSearch or the white pages can be useful too.
Why do people keep telling you to go on the Maury show?? Retarded.

Yahoo People Search has an option where you can pay for info like this through some service Or you could always go old school & hire a private detective. Assuming you already Googled your butt off...

Yellowpages.com
It redirects you to a person search. Then you can find address and phone, etc. for $20 or something like that.
I found my bio. father that way - only to find out a month later that my entire family knew where he was and just didn't wanna tell me. So, ask your family first and be real w/ them and forceful - chances are that they may know a starting area for you like a state or city area.
Good luck.

Any info you have on him will help you. Social Security number, last know address, last job. You can go to people search and try to look him up. It cost money to do that. If you know what city and state he's in, you can go to the records building and find him. Hope this helps and Good Luck to you.

depends which country your in..
in the UK you can contact agencies who will help you , BUT you can find out through public records also, e.g. electral roll etc.
but might be an idea to do it thru the agency, because he may have a family, does he even know you exsist? your mum told him? (sorry that sounds bad, but did you ask her)
it's tricky..good luck though
but everyone has public records relating to them, if you can find out what area they were last in, that would help also.
well judith, may have a different married name.. so better to try to track down male people

Names may be helpful, but places can be even more helpful. These names should have locations associated with them. Check out that first, then connect with the names. You can find your answers.

i wish i could help but my own experience trying to find my real dad has led me to believe he's nothing but a scumbag.i'm not saying yours is i'm just telling you what happened with me.in a way i'm glad not to have lived with him at all or else i'd be brainwashed and i'm surprised that half my DNA ever came from HIM....
don't expect much is what i'm saying cuz real dads can be disappointing.

Here's a site with some tips about using the SSN:
http://ezinearticles.com/?Social-Security-Number-Search---How-to-Find-People-by-Social-Security-Numbers&id=479228
and here are sites that offer inexpensive searches based on SSN - I tested the first one, and it gave me accurate preliminary results:
