The song is dire but I can't tell her, she is thinking of having a Kenny rogers Tattoo she loves him that much, I have explained that he is past it and that techincally a stream is too small to host an island, therefore the song is illogical, but she wont listen, help meeeeeeeeeeee!

technically an island is a body of land surrounded by water, there are no size requirements. the song is not the problem, kenny rogers definately sucks, but dolly is the coolest, see if you can get her to tattoo dolly's boobs on her own, that would be cool.you want to hear some songs that are illogical, listen to the 90's hits when everyone was on crack, or 60's and early 70's when everyone was on lsd,or 80's when everyone was "punked" or 2000's, well hip hop, need i say more, you might end up liking islands in the streams, in the mean time remember..."we all live in a yellow submarine...."

I have never heard a Kenny Rogers song for which the words made any kind of sense. Apparently the listeners like the sound of his voice and the way he croons the songs. To pick some obvious examples, in The Gambler he says that the Gambler taught him a lot of things but when you get right down to it the Gambler told him what he should know but gave him no idea how to learn it.
In The Coward of the County he stands by while his nephew gets in a fist fight with 3 or 4 gamblers who have just raped his wife, instead of either the narrator or the nephew shooting them, which would be the logical thing to do.
The easiest thing is to pretend that Kenny is singing in some other language. The words to his songs make no sense in Spanish either but might in some other language.

Okay Spock, why does it have to be logical? If she loves Kenny and that song, why do you want to take that from her? The old fart might be "past it" as you say, but if your old lady loves him.... Leave her be! As a matter of fact, if you love HER.... you should support her. Teasing allowed, if it's harmless. If she wants to get a K.R. tattoo.... Well, that's a personal choice. I've always loved the Osmonds... But I'd never tattoo them onto my body. Maybe a small purple butterfly and the name "Donny"..... But nothing huge or major..... Well, songs don't have to be logical. Music is a way to express feelings and emotions, which don't always make sense. But, the tattoo is going too far, I agree. Bribe her into not getting the tattoo by promising to do something that you don't like but that she always wants you to do.
