Because I really don't like to scoop, and I was thinking about one of those Litter II robots (automatic cleaning machines)

Yes, most cats won't use super dirty box. But cats are usually fine with a once a day scoop and a weekly change. Or if that still seem like a lot, get one of those self scooping boxes.

It all depends on the personality of your cat. I have two cats that use the same litter box. While one seems to be fine with cleaning the box twice or so a week, the other prefers it to be cleaned daily. She's the clean freak cat! lol So, I'll say it just really depends on what the cat wants. But to be on the clean side, clean your litter box daily to keep down the germs your cat can spread around the house after using the litter box. My clean freak cat has let me know when she's not happy with the condition of her litter box before and has used the carpet as her area of disposal. Good luck with your cat. :)

Absolutely.....Clean it at least twice a day. Change the litter completely at least every two weeks, washing the litter box with bleach and soap, dry well and add lots of good litter. Arm & Hammer Kitty Litter is one of the best. It has a deoderizer in it. Cats are very clean animals and if they poop and pee outside the box, they are signaling that their litter box is dirty. They don't like to sit on poop when they are doing their business...

YOU BET! My cats have to have a pristine box at all times. We have rescued strays and my wife works like crazy 5 times a day keeping boxes clean. We have seven cats. You would not know it because they are really clean animals as long as the boxes are just right! Going outside of the box is their way of telling you that you are not doing your job right! It is a gentle reminder! Problem is..... it wont smell like one!

My cat uses it's box even if it is filthy, but that's probably because she has been using it for almost 15 years. If your cat is younger it probably will go pee in a corner when the box is really dirty. I advise you to keep it clean cuz they'll get poop on their feet lol.

Yes, cats are VERY clean animals. My cats (and apparently also my brother's cats) will watch and wait while you clean the box and then use it as soon as you're done. They like cleanliness. They'll also refuse to drink their water if they think its too old and stale. They're just weird like that.

Yes relatively clean, how would you like to have to stand in a dirty toilet to go, and then lick your feet clean??
