NEVER drink alcohol at a professional dinner. You look like a drunk no matter what and people will not take you seriously. Even just dinner with two interviewers is still an interview. DO NOT DRINK in this situation.
You should always follow the lead of those professionally "above you" at these types of events.

I'd say it's a negative. First of all, it's unwise to drink alcohol at a job interview simply because you should want to be as sharp as possible. Second, a beer probably costs more than the beverages that the other people ordered. The candidate would have done better to order a beverage similar to those of the interviewers.

Drinking alcohol in front of people you are trying to impress professionally is never a good idea. Not because of gettng drunk. Even a small amount that causes no intoxication is inappropriate. It could suggest that the person is a regular, daily drinker and will do so even in professional settings, which doesn't look good to prospective bosses.
I would go so far as to say that the candidate should not have ordered a beer even if the interviewers did. He should have ordered, really, any non-alcoholic drink.

It certainly can mean something. It's usually wise to follow the lead but it can also show you have the ability to make your own decisions without being influenced by another. In this instance, one beer not many would be fine. In dinner or lunch interviews, I was taught to follow the concept that if someone salt and peppered their food before tasting it they most likely made decisions before having all the facts.

Absolutely negative. It shows he is not a team player and that he must get ahead of people. If an interviewer happens to be an anti-alcohol person, the applicant is done for.

Well around the upside, he found you. Around the downside, unless of course you're a famous rapper or worldwide cocaine dealer, never put on shades inside. It's stated the eyes would be the home windows towards the soul. With shades on, you simply draw the curtains.

It's definetly not professional. I wouldn't mix business with alcohol, ever, unless it's happy hour with your coworkers AFTER work. (or unless it's a potential client and THEY order alcohol first, in which case, never order anything harder than they're drinking)
