People talk so loudly in libraries nowadays, even the librarians! I remember when I was a kid (and I'm not that old) we were supposed to be quiet in libraries, and the librarians would "shh" us if we got too loud.

They lack the literacy skills to read the signs asking them to keep quiet.

What is normal talking outside sounds lounder in a library because there isnt alot of loud noises inside and there isnt alot of place for it to go so the sound gets bounced back and forth from the walls.

I have noticed that too and it's very annoying.

I haven't seen a librarian lately try to keep people quiet.

My mother is a library and she spends most of the day shushing people.
