protein shakes are only necessary if your are going to be working out 4 hours daily. if not then a well balanced diet with a 20 min cardio workout and a 20 min weight lifting workout daily will get you results super fast.

If you work out with weights and you want to gain muscle mass you use protein. To lose weight eat right and exercise. And use vitamins for more energy

Most American diets consume double the amount of protein needed. Many claim they "need" it because of activity level. Excess protein can actually be harmful and puts needless stress on your organs. Several medical conditions (esp with age) are complications of excess protein.

If you feel good and have energy, you are probably doing great. Protein shakes are for ppl in the nursing homes. They are not a benefit to normal healthy people with access to food.

Good luck to you!

For weight loss purposes, they are irrelevent. Even for building muscle, regular food is just as effective and cheaper.

Almost everyone in the developed world gets more protein than they need in their regular diet. See link below.

Absolutely not. Drink a protein shake when you are in a hurry and can't get a decent meal. Nothing, I mean nothing, substitutes real protein and real food. Amino acid tablets have helped me build lean muscle before.

You can do it right with American Whey protein.
Drink it 2-3 times a day with whole milk.

You can also try it with 2 scoops of ice cream.
And make sure you drink it with a 12 oz glass.

Good taste and goes down smoothly.
Been taking it for 5 yrs now.

Good luck:
