Yes. PS3 supports up to 1080p.

Most of the games currently on the market for the PS3 are formatted at 720P Very few games are formatted in 1080P Unless you had a really big TV, you won't notice a difference.

yeah ofcoarse but you have to buy component cables to play in HD.... a good brand for component cables is Monster Game it'll cost around $35....

ADDED INFO: this is to turn on the HD settings

then when you connect it to your ps3 and tv... turn on your ps3 and in the PS menu go to settings then display settings then change it to 720p instead of lower resolutions cuz the ps3s default settings is on non HD settings...
