It depends on which country they are fleeing from and for what. If they are refugees fleeing countries such as Mugabe's Zimbabwe then I obviously expect my country to welcome them. If they are drug dealers moving their business from Turkey to Haringey then I expect them to be deported.

Makes you wonder if the water around Westminster has been contaminated with something that removes common sense or removes any feeling of national social responsibility doesn't it.
Why on earth do we as working tax payers of this country effectively have to pay for another countries problems ? I don't get it in the slightest.
Why on earth does this country have to let people stay on the streets when they probably shouldn't be, simply because we do not have enough Prison cells available when 1/8th of those locked up are NOT EVEN FROM THE UK !!!!! ... Am I missing something or have the lunatics finally taken over the asylum ?!
As for those that wish to state "Moaning isn't going to change anything" .... it is precisely that attitude that has caused this mess, wake up and smell the coffee for the love of your country ! Apathy gets people precisely what they do not want.

Prince H, you are dead right. Recently Brown relinquished the last peice of democracy left in the UK, when he signed that scurrilous agreement in Lisbon. We must all fight to get out of the EU as it now stands. Further Brown then allows the Bank of England to give 57 billion to save the Northern Rock using tax payers money to a private enterprise, without any consoltation to any of those tax payers. BUT no Director of the Northern Rock has been hauled over the coals. All of those people were resonsible for its calamity. You cannot blame the market all the time they should have known the risks they were taking on behalf of the company. Rotten through and through the whole Labour Government - one mess after another, fuelled by greed in most cases.

What's wrong with people here? Can't you answer a simple question without swearing? Is this how you speak at home?
And I'm not tired of this because I'm not aware of any cases. Can you quote a few? (not saying you're wrong, just that I don't know any)

Yes. When I visit my grandfather who fought in the second world war, I am reminded of what a frail individual he is now, and of what a dog-eat-dog this country is now because the social balance is gone.
What the f*ck happened?

sic of our world involvement completely. why cant we just get a government that wants to consentrate on solving our own!! problems for once, instead of interfearing with every one els at OUR!! expence. i personaly think there is a good case for scrapping government all together and re thinking the whole consept with VERY strict and tough laws in place to controle politicians. they have far too much power. and 'in the case of labour' are capable of too much damage with no controle.
