The p when ur talking about tvs like 1080p or 720p??

P does not stand for pixels.

It means progressive.

TVs draw their pictures 1 line at a time. A standard TV has 480 lines vertically. A progressive screen draws every line 30 times a second.

The other option is i for interlaced. Interlaced screens draw every other line 30 times a second.
