The times of ignorance is over. No more winking from God.
He now COMMANDS men everywhere to repent......
Only a wise person will DO as God commands.
One day, all humanity will have to stand before Him to give an account of their lives. Next stop will be 'THE LAKE OF FIRE'!
Only born-again Christians will escape this Great White Throne Judgment ( Rev. 20:11-15 refers), glory to God!

The word "wink" in the Bible means that something happened very quickly. It is not the literal term that God "winked" at someone or something.
In the particular verse you mention, God is commanding those who have made idols to worship to repent. It could also mean ignored or that God let them get away with it for a time, but there was punishment to come.
