I hardly think damning me to an eternity of crippling and unimaginable pain (so they say) is evidence of how some omnipotent "god" loves me.

of gods love?...evidence of it?...wouldnt prove love to me
i will settle for him...stopping the war going on right now....stop the bombs... the suicide bombers... make the mortars into doves....make the bullets not penetrate the skin.... bring the dirt up to mounds that will stop the tanks from moving...show me that...and i will believe.....
when that happens.... he will have ...a very faithful subject.
until then your lake of fire... doesnt intimidate me too much because i dont believe its there

well thats a dumb question.

if they were burning in a fiery hell because they refused to acknowledge a particular god loved them, why would that change thier belief, that would only further solidify thier belief that your god is petty and unworthy of your praise.

Actually you will get a new body when you die. You won't be just a soul.
