I have from age 10, with the exceptions of 3 years in the Army and college dorms and roommates.

But I cook, clean, do my laundry (even iron) Now celebrating 50 years living alone. Only thing lacking is companionship. I'm working on that. But, I don't need a woman or anyone else to take care of me. I would very much like to take care of someone I love.

Also garden, paint houses, roof, electric, plumbing, auto repair, carpentry. So I have pretty complete household skills.

You sound a lot like me, including your time in the military.
I can take care of myself and my house, but you will never know true happiness until you have somebody to take care of.
When I first went to my wife's apartment, when we were dating, I opened the freezer only to find it full of frozen dinners.
I love taking care of my wife. She constantly tells me I do too much for her, but taking care of her is what really makes me happy.

you just answered your question right there! obviously you CAN live alone. if you weren't able to do all those things, you would've been dead a long time ago. it is your choice. all these years, you haven't found that special lady? or you didn't think of settling? it is never too late. i suggest you go to Bingo night, library, and museums, church, VA gatherings, theater (not the movies), and so on. at a bar, it is not a good idea to find a GOOD LADY, that wants a long term.

your question looks more like a "come on" , a pick up line, than a simply question...
well, whichever way, have fun, and think positive... she might be closer than you think.

yeah can do all those things. Plus like my cooking better.
Have someone but we maintain separate residences. Started out like that because of her children. Now just comfortable with it we start mad one of us just leaves and goes home, either me if I am at her house or her if she is at my house.
I'm a slob and she is a neat freak. She also likes Chinese food, French food (not Cajun French). Anything thing that is lastest fade. Me I am meat and potatos so she doesn't like my cooking and I don't like hers. It is like after she cooks I have to go get a good hamburger and fryers to get me filled up.

I am a slightly older bachelor too, I sometimes pray to our maker to assist other men I know in this very matter, they seem to find someone soon after, I will mention you, and all my other brothers out there, and hope one of you can move the Lord to fill the void for me... bless all of you.

To be "alone" would be miserable......I met someone at the age of 8....some say he is imaginary...some call him Jesus.....
however.....besides two years of marriage....i too have spent many years alone.....or at least without a female companion.....
I would have found it a terrible existence had i not met Jesus....
I trust one day...in His time...the right woman will walk into my life......until then.....i enjoy devoting all my time to Jesus...and my eight year old son......It has been a priceless experience to spend all this time with my son without a woman....however sometimes lonely...for female companionship.....i always have Peace......
I am SO glad He sustains me......
The Fact is.......We need each other......
in different ways...we need each other.......
God bless you my friend....
I'm glad your Peace allows you to "celebrate" these past 50 years!!!

Guess the military teaches you to take care of yourself. I also
have lived alone, and LOVE it. [65yrs old.] The few lonely times
do not trump the ability to do what you want, when you want.
