Green is such a lovely color, paired with white it's so fresh and spring-like..beautiful.
You have a great selection of shades.....soft pastels,mint-green is a lovely, delicate color....or the color of peridots......Imagine soft green floaty dresses for your bride's maids accented with white......orange or apple blossoms lend themselves well for each is touched with a tinge of either pastel pink or yellow.....
How about a rainbow wedding? Identical dresses for each girl in a different pastel shade...all carry white flowers...and the bride carrres a bouquet of all the colors her 'girls' wear........my niece did this with her early summer wedding.....the guys wore soft gray tuxedo's with corresponding shirts....lovely.

Yikes. Why are people engaged for sooooo long? Anyways, I am getting married in April and I am using the color aqua. Instead of roses I am going to use tulips.
Theknot.com has a lot of great ideas for spring weddings.
Congrats.

what shade of green are you going with. a trend that is going on and will be going on for the next few wedding season are matching pastels with chocolate or latte. what is your complimentary color? www.brides.com has a lot of suggestions for reception and ceremony decor, bouquets, cakes, and much more with pictures of actual weddings and some that were set up for a photo shoot.
hope that helps!

What colors do you like?
I think its easiest to first look at Bridesmaids dresses. If you like green, there are lots of great green dresses. Are you going to have a formal evening wedding or are you doing a garden, casual wedding?
Have you bought your dress yet? When you visualize your perfect day, there are so many things there. But it is important to have an overall picture. I wanted an evening wedding so a formal occasion but I wanted it to be a fun party--lots of music. As I looked at bridesmaids dresses, the colors that jumped at me were coral and turquoise. The bridesmaids dress that looked the best on my very curvy bridesmaid was the turquoise one (not the beautiful wispy coral one I liked best)
Then from your bridesmaids dress you can work on colors. As I went with turquoise, I was working with bright vibrant colors and used a tropical theme. But you can think about if you like a milder, but elegant tone on tone. Or if your favorite color is pink, do you want to have one bright and one pale color of pink? Usually your favorite color and the bridesmaids come into play. Some dresses don't come in all colors and if one shade of dark red doesn't come in the dress that looks good on your bridesmaids, you may pick another dark red shade.
May is such a great date. So many colors fit great. Bright spring colors, or pastels. You are sorta half way between spring and summer so you can use just about any color you want.
After you've picked out colors, I'd go to caterers and linens. My caterer was the best! She helped with my budget and figured out a great menu that would give me lots of fruit and bright beautiful color. She also had a linens place she worked with. I went to that particular place and just looked at all the linens til I figured out what to go with.
What is your focus? Me--I'm not a flower girl so that was last on my list. I didn't really care about that, and talking to the florist helped me decide my centerpieces. Some people though the centerpieces are a BIG thing. However I wanted a big party. So I worked on the dance floor, the music, the dj. I actually had a friend do the dj and used the laptop, through a great set of speakers, for my music. But I was on a tight budget as well.
One thing that my mom did that I thought was amazing...I tore out pictures of everything I liked. All floral arrangements, all hairstyles, all bridesmaid dresses. She got a Huge 4" Notebook and loaded it with clear top loading pages. I put the pictures I cut out of magazines in there. That way I had all the flowers I liked and I could see if there was something in common between them. As I figured something out (like the bridesmaids dresses) I could clean out all the "rejected" pile. That way all the pictures were in one place and when I was meeting someone (like the florist), I could take 10-15 pictures of things I liked. That way I could express what I liked and what I didn't like. Pictures are much easier for the cake baker or the florist to understand what you are talking about and what your vision is.
Also if helped the florist out a lot b/c he could see the bridesmaids dresses and the exact colors/shades I meant when I said turquoise.
A great place for invites. www.invitationsbydawn.com.
If you decide on an outdoor wedding, make sure you have a backup plan just in case. Also you'd be shocked at what you can go ahead and get out of the way. Favors. I had my favors done months before the wedding and was able to deliver them to the reception hall 4 days in advance. That way it wasn't last minute and I didn't worry about forgetting them. Same with my programs for the wedding. I took them to Staples to print them out and delivered them to the church a week early.
Hope these help you out. I look forward to reading your other questions as you get closer and have made some more decisions.
