I keep seeing myself in a dusty town, I hear gunfire and explosions, and my son calling "Dad, get me out of here" but I can't find him anywhere. It has been 6 months since I lost my only son while he was doing his tour of duty in iraq. Any other soldier parents in my situation?

Words can't express our heartfelt condolences and admiration for your son and understanding for what you are experiencing. I lost my son in June of 2006 while he was stationed at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, automobile accident. I know how you must feel, it's devestating and hard to deal with. I hope both of them are enjoying themselves in Heaven right now.

So sorry for your loss. Maybe this is part of your natural grieving process. I have never experienced losing a child, I can only imagine your sorrow. I only know that since I lost my mother I have dreams of her. Time has past, and now I have good dreams more than bad dreams.

I know you asked for answers from other soldiers parents. I just had to say thank you.

I have to say that you probably should seek professional help for this.

But I also must add my salute to the honor of your son.

i do not have kids but I think the best thing to do is to go to a psychiatrist.

I am very sorry to hear that.
