put a lighter color with ash in the name on it. If you just try to lighten it without the ash you will probably get orangy red tones. It is not always easy so good luck. If you can afford it you would be best to go to a salon.

If Its New, Just Wait And Wash It A Few Times. It Will Get Lighter. If It Doesn't Try This: 1 Part Peroxide (20 Vol.) 1 Part Hair Bleach 3 Parts Shampoo (Or Conditioner) Work It In Like A Shampoo And Check For Lightness. When Its As Light As You Want - Rinse, Shampoo And Condition.
Good Luck!
P.S. I Have Used This Method Myself Several Times It Is SAFER, GENTLER, AND EASIER To CONTROL Than ANYTHING Else I've Tried Including 'Haircolor Removers'
P.S.S. Head And Shoulders Has Been Reformulated Several Times It Has Been SAFE For Color Treated Hair For Several Years.

use original color in the bottle and pour into a squirt bottle. then if you want your hair half as light as it is now then pour half the amount of the color of bleach if you want it about one fourth the darkness then pour one fourth of the amount of color you poured in of bleach. if you do not understand these instrutions google it. if you understand how to do it then it should turn out totally fine, oh and make sure when you rinse out the color to use WHITE shampoo and conditioner and moisturizing conditioner so the bleach will not damage your hair.
