I accidentally cut my finger this morning and I covered it up with a band aid. It was about 9:00 AM. I have been changing band aids all day and it hasn't stopped. Its not a straight cut, its sorta curved and it peeled back a good section of skin. The cut is on my index finger near the cuticle bed (or whatever its called - near my finger nail). Band aids aren't stopping it. Its slowly healing but still bleeding. I see blood through my band aid.

If it is continuing to bleed you need to go to the doctor. You could very well have a blood cloting problem.

This doesn't look like a significant cut except that it is on the knuckle.

Get some gauze and fold it into quarters. Use a bandage and tape the gauze firmly to your finger. Now use a small long object--like a popsicle stick and tape that not too tight to your entire finger. If you don't bend your finger, the bleeding will stop. You're going to have to keep your finger from bending that knuckle until the injury is fairly well healed or it will break open again.

put a thick pressure bandage on it-cut a maxi pad and wrap it tightly, but not tight enough to cause numbness or tingling. then...LEAVE IT ALONE. continuously pulling off the bandage to check the status of the wound will further promote bleeding. apply an ice pack, elevate the extremity, and if you bleed through the pad-go to the er for suturing.

if it doesnt stop bleeding throughout the day then there could be a problem and you should call and talk to a doctor...even if its over the phone....dont put any alcohol on it...that kills a lot of good cells along w/ the bad ones....put lots of pressure on it w/ a paper towel...just press on it w/ the paper towel in your hand for a good 15 minutes at least...if it still is bleeding call a doctor

u don't need to use band-aids.. because it is a cut, u should use a piece of clothe instead,. you must roll the cloth so tight so that bleeding will stop.. but before that, you must clean the wound w, clean water.. ok?

you need to apply pressure to the cut. you may have to get a stitch or you could buy some steri-strips, which so the same thing as stityches, but they are little strips of cloth that hold the wound closed.
