I always warned patients that the site may initially be more painful a few hours after the injection. These is no problem with taking pain killers. If the pain does not settle quickly though contact your GP.

My doctor seemed to laugh when she told me i had tennis elbow. I thought it was arthritis moving in. I am 58.
She advised me that i would need the injection only if it wouldnt get better.
I am glad i persevered without the injections, but it took ages,- 6 months to get better.
Both arms are now ok.
When i joined the gym recently i thought they would not allow me in because of it but when i mentioned it to the trainer, he said no problem. they apparently have exercises to suit that will help it get better quickly.
Good luck though i know how painfull it can be and that was without the injections.

Yes I have several for Golfers Elbow. The last one was interesting as the syringe blew off the needle and the Doc was covered in gunk! I came to the conclusion that whatever was being injected stayed inside the joint, so as I kept having the injections, the synoval fluid got more and more until you could not inject any more stuff in. The Doc stated that was the last injection and it did not help. Instead I went to Pilate's for my back and they solved the Golfers Elbow. Good Luck

good question, i got a cortisone shot 5 wks ago and still extreme pain. my Dr told me the pain would go away in 3 days if the shot worked... obviously it didn't for me. keep calling your Dr. i don't know what to tell you but i know what you are going through and hopefully you wont be cut off from your vicodins, because then well good luck if that does happen.
