I am trying to make monogrammed pillowcases, where the monogram is in the very middle of the pillowcase. For this to work, I need to know the proper placement of the pillowcase hems on the bed. Do they hang off the edges or meet in the middle of the bed?

We always put the hems (openings) together in the middle. Looks better when you don't see the pillow itself sticking out. The answer to your question is - "it doesn't matter". If you think about it you can have it either way by switching pillows right or left. You do have to put your monograms on in opposite directions.

The hems usually go toward the outer edge of the bed the monogram is usually centered just above the hem. However you make them I'm sure they'll be lovely.
