The British use sneaked.

I can't see how snuck was ever derived from sneak either. Well okay I can...... Sneaked is a somewhat difficult word to say in many American accents.

The correct British past tense of 'sneak' is 'sneaked'. However, in Canada, I've heard both 'sneaked' (which doesn't sound quite right) and 'snuck' (which doesn't sound right, either).
