the bibles with a flask in them right?

Now THAT'S hilarious.

So now I have to give a moderately serious answer, you know me. =] The Bible says we are not to ask people what the money is for when they ask for it.
As a truck driver, I get approached and "hit up" for handouts all the time. I always give, no questions. That's what we are called to do.
If they are lying and use the money for bad purchases, God will ensure justice is done. If they really need it, then I'm glad I was there to help them.
Either way, it's a win-win situation for me. Great question Dude. =]

Now that's just funny.

*Edit* -- And to answer your question, I'd give money to a guy on the street even if I knew he was going to buy booze with it. So I guess I'd give money to a homeless Christian even if I knew they were going to buy a Bible with it. After all, it is the winter, and those thin Bible pages could be great tinder for starting trash barrel fires.

Are you giving money to Christian groups like the Salvation Army who ring the bell in front of the store at Christmas time or to panhandlers? When I give to money to strangers on the street who ask for it, I don't ask them why they need it I give it to them because they need it more than me. What makes you wonder about things like that anyway? If you don't give money to them, you have nothing to worry about. What's so bad about the Bible anyway? It's an excellent way to spread God's word! By the way, God Bless You.

Shut up, Lebowski.

But seriously, the reason this question comes across as a joke is because we all know that Christianity does not result in people being destitute on the street. On the contrary, it has helped straighten out the lives of countless numbers of people.

I live and work in a place that is populated with a lot of homeless people begging from tourists, I stopped giving anything to most of them years ago, but they always say to me, "God bless you" and when they do, I wonder if they feel blessed by god?

I can't come up with anything wittier than your question as an answer, so I will just give a humbled laugh.
I'll check back in if I think of something.

I sometimes do. As long as they keep the bible-trafficking away from our schools, I'm kind of indifferent.
