Like the European Pope excommunicates dissenters or burns them at the stake.
Is it time for Bush, Jr. to step up to the plate and punish all non-Texas Methodists too?
This would likely mean punishing every Democrat in America but Christianity is too important a non-profit religion to allow any criticism ever? It would also guarantee a Republican victory in the USA Presidential election in 2008 too.

The pope hasn't burned anyone at the stake for several centuries, and it was a dumb idea when they did.
As far as Bush, I think even this congress would agree that an establishment of religion would be an offense against the constitution punishable by impeachment and probably even criminal charges.
But then, so is torture, and any other cruel and unusual punishment.
As a religious professional I must say that establishing Christianity as the state religion would be the most harmful thing he could do to real Christianity. Look at religion in Europe, it's dead except for the independant churches not supported by tax moneys or government favoritism.
And then there is the issue of free speech. Various private and secular organizations, such as Yahoo Answers, need to learn that free speech is an inalienable human right which must not be abridged for any reason.

I think the last time the Pope had someone burned at the stake was the 1600s and the church RARELY excommunicates anyone. Took years to do that with an entire sect of believers that are following a nun claiming to be Jesus Christ risen.
SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE! Remember that little bit that the Founding Fathers wanted our country based on? Go live in a Middle Eastern country - you'll find it more to your liking - just convert to Islam.
Of course, since this is a joke - good one.
