Nope. The amendment to expand it to the military failed. However, a different bill has made it's way through Congress just this month.

The FMLA is not extended to active duty military, but if you have any kind of operation or procedure you normally get some kind of convalescent leave. Of course it is not going to be unpaid leave like the FMLA is set up for.

When I had my shoulder operated on I got 2 weeks of "free" leave. I am not sure, but I believe if you have a baby you get 6 weeks (could be wrong).

There are also Humanitarian assignments, for those military members who may need to live close to home to care for a sick family member, or other extenuating circumstances.

AD personnel are NOT covered by FMLA.
