Yes of course, God bless you Hamas.
Hamas is the legitimate leader of the Palestinians, and really we don’t want Israel to recognize Hamas,
And I don’t think making ceasefire between two enemies needs the two enemas to recognize each other.

Well, I recognize that they exist. I also recognize that they won the Palestinian elections fair and square. I also recognize that until their military coup voided the government, they were the legitimate government of the Palestinians.
However, I do not recognize them as a peace partner, because they are not. This is not some tit-for-tat compromise here: Israel is an established country, Hamas is an established terrorist organization. They are not equals. Furthermore, ceasing to seek to actively destroy the other side is a pre-requisite for peace talks and recognition, and not a negotiating chip. Hamas still actively calls for Israel's complete annihilation and launches rockets to further that end. The cessation of both those point is a pre-requisite for acceptance.

Yes I do recognize Hamas who got elected in a democratic way like the West demanded. The West knew about Hamas and showed us exactly what Democracy means: If you do not vote like expected, please face some sansctions!
This is no statment to glorify terrorisms etc. I do know Hamans' faults - but this does not change my mind of "free and democratic elections".
You are right, it takes TWO to make things work. But did you not just answer my question regarding a two State resolution that Palestine woud be a puppet on the string?
I do understand where you are coming from. But I also do understand the kids growing up in Palestine and I also do understand why they will think one day about certain things.
To be fair, I also do understand Israelis the way they are thinking and acting. It's like a circle with no way out.
Let's hope for the best and have a nice weekend.
I do not agree with any terror acts and I do hope that a solution will be found SOON.

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't Hamas call only for "hudna?" If you did not know, in Arabic this term connotes an extended cease-fire in order to prepare for further battle. I'm not sure I would call that a "peace" initiative-- I think that both sides need to recognize each other and speak directly to one another before peace is possible.
By the way, Hamas IS the democratically elected political party leading the Palestinian government-- and the elections were some of the most free and fair in the world. The West should not discount the legitimacy of Hamas in regard to Palestinians.

But how can Israel 'recognise' Hamas when the Hamas Charter calls for the total murder of Israel?
Hopeless, have you read the Charter? I only did just recently, and I was shocked by the things said there. There were some sentiments expressed that we last heard coming from the lips of Hitler.
If Hamas rewrote the charter, and stopped with the terrorism, then I personally wouldn't have a problem recognising them - but of course I can't speak for Israel, I'm in the diaspora.

Yes, I recognize Hamas, although I don't think they are a legitimate governing body of the Palestinians. Yes, I recognize Israel, although I think that they have boxed in the Palestinians with little recourse.
You can't fire rockets and bomb each other into recognizing each other. Both Palestinians and Israelis have suffered tremendous loss; continuing the cycle of hate will not bring peace - ever.

With strong reservations; I am far more favorably impressed with Nasrallah than Mashall. But I always respect people who fight for their freedom. in any event, they are the freely elected government of Palestine. I think the U.N. should recognize them. As far as being "terrorist",well until they declared themselves the government in 1948 what now passes for a government in Palestine consisted of three U.N.-designated terrorist organizations: The Stern Gang, the Irgun and the Hagannah. Oh yes,and the Jabotinski Brigade. Terrorist organizations all, until one horrible day when they went on the radio at the height of a very tight U.S. election and declared themselves the New Government of what they called "Israel". Truman - afraid of losing the eastern seaboard - hastily recognized this government. And there it still sits, squatting there taking potshots at it's neighbors, periodically invading or bombing them, carving off chunks of their territory, and using American jews to foment attacks on Arab states that have done us no harm.

Yes, I do.
The Palestinian people have been pushed so far that electing a terrorist organisation into government is their only way of drawing attention to the atrocities being commited upon them by the Zionists.
