Holy Cow!
"A whole turkey (and turkey parts) is safe when cooked to a minimum internal temperature of 165°F as measured with a food thermometer. Check the internal temperature in the innermost part of the thigh and wing and the thickest part of the breast. For reasons of personal preference, consumers may choose to cook turkey to higher temperatures."

The largest turkey on record was raised in 1967 by the Jerome Foods Company and weighed in at 75 pounds

I think our legs are getting a pull. lol I remember a sister roasting a 44 lb turkey once and by golly, she almost had to just roast it in the oven without a pan to get it in. It took up the whole oven.

I am wondering if you think you can even buy one that size and you can't.

I'd use someone else's suggestion and roast the 4 turkey's. Easier, and makes more sense to me.

Bloody hell how big is the oven????????

Must have been an obese turkey, did it come from America?

20 minutes per pound, 78 pounds is 26 hours, you're in for a long wait.

26 hours, why not use 4 ten pound birds, they would feed 48 people and cook in just over 2 hours

...In your Dreams... There has NEVER been a Turkey HALF that size... (unless you have a particularly annoying little Sibling running around...). Your jokes need alittle "work". -But Merry Christmas-anyway! :)

Turkeys don't weigh that much. Better look for a recipe for a deer or calf.
