so my bofa credit card was closed for non payment, i made the mistake of letting my dad use it.. and he racked it up well over the limit. i managed to pay it off completely over 6 months. its now paid in full, but still closed. i want to open it again. but, i unfortunalety have another outstanding balance on a check card that was overdrafted, but i am in the process of paying for it in payments. what are the chances of getting my credit card reopened?

The credit card will be like any other - probably. I would call BOA and ask them if it's a possibility to get your credit card reissued after everything is paid off.

However, the chances of getting another account (a new credit card) are going to be slim because your credit score is going to be lower than it was.

If you are declined, you may have to start over with your credit and get a prepaid card. The secret to getting better credit with those is to charge a small amount and pay the entire balance off EVERY month.

That's how I built my credit when I was younger.

Good Luck and don't let your dad use your card anymore. :(

Get your bank card paid off.

Six months later apply for a new credit card. They are not going to reopen one that has been closed.
