Fear Of Flying - An unwarranted automatic fear response to the thought or the reality of air travel
Each year, fear of flying causes millions of people needless distress. One in eight Americans deliberately avoids commercial air travel, and for some the feelings are so intense it is a phobia.
More than a healthy concern about airline safety, fear of flying is a significant inhibitor that can cause panic attacks.
Symptoms often include: • Shortness of breath
• Rapid breathing
• Irregular heartbeat
• Sweating
• Nausea
• Overall feelings of dread
drugs such as Xanax and Paxil are often prescribed for people suffering from this phobia

A fear of flying would have developed from some specific event. A phobia is a generalized fear, but not from some event. Many people develope phobias about flying because they take a flight and have these fear feelings. These are really hypoglycemic reactions caused by low blood sugar. Get up early and go to the airport. Skip breakfast, grab a cup of coffee and a donut. Stomach starts feeling upset, heart is racing, feel real nervous.
Hypnosis can correct this problem. I have seen it work.

In some areas there is actually a group that meet to overcome their fear of flying. On the last day of class, they take a short flight to somewhere close by.
Lots of people do not like to fly.
The idea of being so far up in the sky is scary.
People fly even though they are fearful.
We have to ask ourselves, "What is the likelihood something is going to happen?"
If you do not find a class to help you, try taking a short flight on your first trip. Hold the hand of someone you love.
This is what I did. Good Luck

You can get on an antidepressant, or an anti anxiety medication that you only take while flying, or you can look at the reasons behind why it scares you and talk to a therapist to work through it. I used to be the same way - but have overcome it by telling myself that I will be fine. I love traveling and that is a quicker way! I distract myself with books or crossword puzzles, and usually fly tired, so I am too wiped out to freak out! :)

That's a good, healthy, normal sign. It not flying, it falling. You scare death, this is good. I wish I could have met you and be your friend :D I have been flying a lot when I was a kid and now. I never thought of anything like falling, death till now. By now I got use to it. when I think about it, it is pretty scary. I don't know how to over come it. Im happy for happy people, who want to live, i have been dealing with many suicidal people, learn from my dad.
I wish you for the best, my advice didn't help much, at least you know im happy :D
Have a good xmas

Absolutely. A fear of flying is very common. Many people get prescriptions for mild sedatives such as Klonopin and Valium, and that can be VERY helpful.
