Same goes for tortue and child molestation. Theres nothing really wrong with it if the only reason it is bad is because God says it is. Some of you might say of course not! God says its wrong because he has infinite knowledge and knows everything. But if thats the case then whats right and wrong is independent of anyones say so even God. If you really believe that whats right and wrong is brought into existence because of Gods say so - then if God said that tortuing babies for fun is right would it be ok? Again some of you might say he would never say that. But then what way does the arrow point? If he would never say that because its wrong - thens whats wrong and right is independt of his say so.

What say u?

God acted in incredibly immoral ways in the Old Testament, so its clear that his followers are willing to accept that he determines a shifting morality.

This applies to Justice as well. I can't imagine that anyone on earth would consider eternal torture a just punishment for any crime accept the religious. Its cruel and immoral, but somehow OK if done by God.

Iron Handed Faith gives us a very good example of what morality is like for the believer. He is tasked with defending his faith and saving people, yet feels the need to call you incredibly stupid. He can do this without conscious because he is taught that the world is evil and that mankind is destined for hell. So his behavior and statements about your thinking ability are justified by his religious belief.

Name calling is OK if the recipient is worldly.

I believe that you have gone too specific to apply this. We could not say, for instance, that sex is bad, since it is very clearly good in God's design for intimacy between husband and a wife, but is bad in the case of child molestation...it has been perverted (twisted). The same is true for killing...it is not bad to kill an attacker to save another or yourself, only to kill without reason or for a selfish cause (look at the example of David...though he had killed thousands of men with his armies, God punished him when he killed Uzziah...because he did it to cover his sin of adultery with Bathsheba).

this could be a great question. of course homicide is misguided. in any different case society could cave in, human beings could locate no incorrect thank you to handle anger. homicide by potential of its nature isn't helpful for the human race. and you do not want a God to settle for this. even although, lots of the policies we've cooked up, wherein there is not any sufferer, are in keeping with mindless non secular doctrine. Why is there no gay marriage? Christian perception.

I very much agree.

What god says is LAW, not necessarily RIGHT. God has murdered people and played with their lives on a whim, but has written laws prohibiting humans from doing so.

If it was wrong, god wouldn't have done it, therefore the application of the commandments for humans are merely god's rules, not an example of moral 'right'.

think of it the other way arround.

one has no possibility to learn ALL the things God ever said. so then we say that everything that is right--especialy by common sense--must have been said so by God.

I beleive that God gave us the gift of a conscience so that we can ourselves determine what is right and wrong. He also gave us society full of laws and social norms to step and deal with the people who don't use their conscience.

Well if you believe the myths and fairy tales then you have to beleive the deity who flooded the earth killed a large number of pregnant women by drowning them. This would really say that God is a prochoicer wouldn't it?
