My Mom was a stay at home Mom but she would never have recognized the title because thats the way things were in her day. She would have called herself a "modern homemaker" and I was born while she was getting her BA in Art and Homemaking from North Dakota State University, (so I'm the product of a "Land Grant College", just in case the Twit is reading and I know he is). She raised three of us, my Dad, my younger brother and myself, and didn't start teaching until my brother was in college. She would have called hers a "charmed life" just one generation removed from a time when homestead women like her Mom and Grandmothers were valued for there ability to "breed" a workforce. They didn't have the luxury of household appliances, they gave birth to them. Trust me Spit-", your husband and two boys will never find your replacement in the appliance section of Walmart. Just feel that love Girl !! RScott

household appliance, the household maid, chef, doctor, referee, counselor. I was just complaining about this. I feel lucky to have childredn to care for, however, sometimes I think this appliance needs a good vacation! For goodness sakes, use the microwave and let the oven rest!! Hope you sense my humor in this and know that we all feel this way, but deep down, I wouldn't change this feeling for anything in the world. Hope you feel encouraged, knowing you are not alone in this!!

Yeah, the appliance that holds the house together. Cheff, nanny, maid, vixen, doctor, diplomat, judge, police, diy handy woman, banker, accountant, efficiency expert. Spt, you're a treasure, a Renaissance Woman without peer. You're the means and vehicle of your children's and husband's well being and success. You are the sun, the source of beauty and light in their lives.
Now if only they could clone you and capitalize on your "applianceness". Every household would want one.

How can you feel like a household app;iance when you have beautiful children, a husband who adores you and animals who think you are number 1 ? Stop feeling sorry for yourself and cheer up. It is Christmas time and we should pat each other on the back because we are all well.
Merry Christmas and the best to you and yours in 2008.

Yes I did. It was so bad that I scandalized the whole stay at home neighborhood by taking off with my neighbor. I stuck my husband with the two kids for six months so he could get an idea what it was like.
