Okay, So My grandma rents a room to this guy, but he never pays the full rent, and he's always bringing this girl to his room, even though my grandma told him not to because it wastes money. He's basically just taking my grandma's money by living there, (not litterally), and my grandma is just having a hard time with him being there, and she can't kick him out because there is no Lease. So she said "Oh I wish he
just wasn't here at all!"
So what is a good plan to make this guy (from India) leave our house? I'm only a teenager so keep that in mind.
I was thinking, maybe just give him dirty looks until he gets fed up, but that's stupid and not well planned out.

Tell your grandma to seek legal aid. Even though she doesnt have a lease, there are still rights and laws to obay. Making life difficult for him might come back on her for harrassment. She should be able to kick him out as he isnt paying the rent!!

well since you're a teenager u can't go to court with a case like this but u can suggest it to ur mom or grandma...u can also just keep playing pranks on him, do something that would normally annoy u. if u live next door u could make lots of noise so that he gets tired of it and ur grandma can say that if he doesnt pay the rent then the noise wont stop. u can play loud rock music until 4 in the morning. u can also bang on the wall, keep making distractions, or u can also try annoying the girl that he keeps bringing over there. u can embarrass him...hope this helps :)

If there is no lease she can kick him out anytimes she wants.
Also you could tell him if he wants to stay he has to sign something that says how long he will be staying and how much $ for each month. Then if he does not pay the right amout you can take him to court and get a judgment against him.
Dirty looks won't work, but changing the locks might. Just make sure you give him a change to get his stuff from her house or she may be the one takin to court.

Since there is no lease - there is no binding contract allowing him to stay. She should be able ask him to leave at anytime - If she feels uncomfortable then she can tell him that she needs to make room for a family member or a close friend. If she chooses to take in another boarder then I would recommend a lease that spells out her rules and rent in detail.

Well the idea of not having a Lease puts your Grandmother in a bind. BUT there is also an advantage to that. Since there is no legal contract allowing him to stay (such as a lease) your grandmother can simply pack-up all of his belongings, put them outside the house, change the locks, and notify the police to be there before he returns to the house. BUT before your grandmother takes that sort of action she must serve him some sort of eviction notice as a warning (keeping a copy for herself) so he cannot retaliate claiming there was no warning prior. A smart idea is to contact a lawyer as a witness for the eviction notice.
Also....
If this man is an illegal alien to the US... your grandmother can have him investigated by the local police by filing a concern of this sort of residency. Because it is ILLEAGAL for your Grandmother to house someone who does not have the legal right to be here. If all checks out.... he is deported and your grandmother is clear.
Best of Luck

she CAN kick him out even though there is NO lease. I'm assuming he is of legal age, and she has no obligation to him. All she has to do is tell him he needs to have his stuff out in 3 days, and give him the date of the last day. It would be best to do it in writing. She owns the place (or has a lease for it) therefore is able to say who lives there. Law enforcement would back her up. Even if there was a verbal agreement for rent arrangements and he is not paying, it can hold up in court.
Best wishes!!!

You don't have to have a lease to kick someone out!!
All you have to do is tell him that he has a week to find another place to live, explain to him that things are not working out,and grandma wants him out.
If he refuses, call the cops and they will give him 6 days to be out or they will remove him.

sense there is no lease, your grandma can give hima 30 day notice. Make sure she does it in writting! And as a witness, be there when she hands it to him. Make sure she even tells him it's a 30 day eviction notice to leave the house.
IF he isn't gone in 30 days, she can put his things out! OR call the police!! I doubt he'll like to confront the police.
Why can't you or and another family member tell him to get out? He's breaking the rules! Have her call JUDGE JUDY!

If there is no lease it is considered a month to month rental. She should be able to give him 30 days notice to leave and if he doesn't leave she can start eviction.
If it is mainly over the money she should find out when he gets paid and demand the money that day or the next day, before he has time to spend it.

I am going to agree on just asking him to leave. If you have to tell a little whilte lie about maybe another relative having to move in, so he must leave to make room......if he refuses your grandmother has every right to call the police and they will remove him. Give your grandmother alot of support and help her get this guy out. She doesn't want him there, then he shouldn't be there.
Good luck, hope all goes well! Merry Christmas
