Yes.
When Ben Franklin introduced them it was considered heresy by many theologians. After all God directly controlled the lightning, putting a lightning conduction on a building was interfering with the will of god!
As if an omnipotent god could not make the lightning hit whatever he wanted, including something with a lightning conductor on it. Or destroy a building in some other way.
Just to make the Christians feel a bit better, there were some idiot 'scientists' too, who insisted that the end should be spherical because it was a more perfect shape (why?) and ignored Ben's actual research showing that pointy lightning rods worked better.
I don't understand how religious buildings can be insured against 'Acts of God' either.

It shows faith in the creation of man, and a lack of knowledge. If a horse is a vain thing for safety, how much moreso a lightning rod, when God creates lightning. (Psalms33:17-20)

faith has no longer some thing to do with it. We nonetheless stay interior the actual international and as such we are sure by the guidelines of the actual realm....which includes if lightning strikes a progression, it desires to have a lightning rod to direct the strike to the floor and thereby leaving the church unhurt. a similar applies to the locks on the church doorways....this in uncomplicated words began because human beings had the balls to thieve from a church! at the same time as i became a baby, you actually might want to flow to church to wish at any time of the day. no longer any extra attributable to thieves.

It clearly signals a liberal congregation, aka those with little faith and absolutely no blind faith.
Weren't Churches with lightning rods/other liberal views chastised in the Book of Revelation of the Bible (aka liberal/untrue churches/whatever)?

Not at all, God gave us all COMMON SENSE and ways to protect ourselves with the technology He has allowed man to come up with.
You couldnt go cross a highway and be like " Ok, Protect me" and then just start walking. God gives you sense and knowledge to use!

Your question basically says that Christians should not use their brains.
If God created us with our brain, He also wants us to USE it. So, using a lighting road is honoring God, by using the knowledge He has given to mankind.
