Getting to heaven does not require being a mormon. Any one who died without the opportunity to hear the Gospel and would have accepted it may be saved in the Celestial Kingdom.

In some cases a person is preordained to a calling. This was the case of Jeremiah. It is probably the case for modern day prophets. If Father wants us to do something, he will make it possible, no matter which family we are born in.

While some Mormons may believe that they chose their parents it is not technically a Mormon doctrine. However, the position may defended based on other things - for instance Ghandi may have chosen his particular parentage because it would lead him to the greater opportunity to do good. While Mormons believe that either in this life or the next everybody will need to accept their version of the gospel to gain exhaltation, they also believe that many people who are not Mormon will be saved, eventually. People like Ghandi, Martin Luther, etc.

Ok Mormon's are weird same with Jehovah's witnesses i mean one of them if not both belive that there is a limited amount of spots in heaven whats not to say they are all taken secondly you have to convert so any people and to get in and why would you follow the bible i mean the book has been changed so many times and like everything contradicts something else i think that if there was a god he'd let everyone into heaven because its not like we know better and people would chose non-Mormon parents so they could live a life they want not guided by weird rulz

1) Mormons do not believe we choose our parents before we are born.

2) Mormons believe that non-Mormons can get into heaven.

If this is what I was suoppose to have believed back when I was a mormon, I would HAVE NEVER CHOSEN my parents, ONLY TO LEAVE THE CHURCH AND GET saved, and have them bring me into this world, everything that happened in the middle I am still going thru theraphy to get over.

That choice isn't necessarily doctrine. I believe we are sent to the place we are needed or that needs us. I think that 'choice' was a fictional thing that happened in plays like Saturdays Warrior and Star Child. I wouldn't be surprised if some of us had this as a blessing but can't imagine it is across the board.

Well first you're presuming that we choose our parents, then that theres a heaven at all. I think someone needs to deal with actual facts for once eh?

Not at all. We will all get an opportunity to accept the gospel, whether in this life or the next.

I don't think that it is official Doctrine that we choose our families. That is just a popular belief- it may be true for some, but not doctrine.

I think you're confusing Mormon pop culture with Mormon doctrine.
