He is perfect. The problem is he's too perfect. He is incredibly intelligent, way more than anyone I have ever known that its sometimes shocking. He is the most gifted artist I have ever seen and his art takes my breath away. He is praised immensely by all the teachers who are too stunned to believe this work. He is a great athlete and unnaturally talented musician. He is very good looking, tall, and handsome. The teachers and adults in my school just look at him with awe and are unsure how to deal with such a talented being. He is also very social.
I know that for some reason he is intrested in me but I do like him a lot. But I don't know how I can handle being with him. I feel like I can't measure up to him in any way. There is nothing unique or special about me. I'm just normal, and average. How do you handle being with a person like this? A person who is praised constantly and admired by everyone. It's so much pressure for me. What would you do?

A lot of people are saying that he is putting too much effort so he's not that great. But the truth is this all just comes naturally to him and he does it without effort.

If it was me? I don't mind dating him. No man in this world is too good for me. Except for maybe Orlando Bloom. But I think you might have problems dating him. And the problem is not him, it's you. Why do you think you are not unique or special? Look around you. Do you see another girl that is exactly like you? Look like you, talk like you, smiles like you, think like you, dress like you, wears her hair like you? NO...you won't. So get your act together girl, and have some confidence in yourself. You are unique and special, just like him.

He's not as perfect as he seems. Chances are, someone who puts this much effort into his life has serious self esteem issues. Even if he doesn't, I guarantee you will find that he is not perfect. He is no better than you, or anyone else. If you like him back, date him because you like him. His talents have nothing to do with a relationship, and shouldn't be factored into your decision. If the attention from others bothers you, find out what celebrities do to keep their relationships peaceful and give it a try.
On another note, maybe he sees you as absolutely perfect. I wonder if you are the serenity he seeks from the madness of perfection he has created for himself. If you lead a calm, peaceful, "normal" life, then you probably look pretty good to him.

Well first things first... he has to ask you out. But if you want to jump the gun and ask him out first, that would probably impress him.
As for everything else, you shouldn't worry about all that stuff. If he likes you, and you like him, then that's what matters. So you're no Rembrandt. You're no Beethoven. Maybe the only talent you have is making fart noises under your arm pit. All that matters is if he thinks you're as awesome as you think he is. If you're worried about not measuring up to him, then you've already defeated yourself. Just go out with him. Have a good time. Gain some confidence in yourself, woman! :-) I'm sure someone out there looks at you and thinks the same thing.

I think that if this guy is showing interest in you then there is something he sees in you that is unique or special. Just because you dont think you can measure up doesnt mean he thinks the same way. Give yourself some credit girl!!! And let me tell you from experience, not everyone is as perfect as they seem in the beginning. He's still just a person like you:)

first of all you said "but I do like him a lot", are you going to date him for who and what he is? that would be wrong.
second you said "I feel like I can't measure up to him in any way. There is nothing unique or special about me". you being you makes you unique and special. you don't need to "measure up" to anyone but yourself.
if YOU feel it is too much pressure to be with someone as "wonderful" as he is then don't get involved with him.
But remember, you are a special person just because you are you. Don't ever think that you are anything less.

Ha,
You sound like me. He sounds JUST like my husband while we were in high school. He was the golden boy. I bet this guy is humble too about how great he is right?
Perfect!
I felt the same way when I was in school with him too. It will go away, just love him for who he is, he loves you for who you are, right?
Hun, no one is perfect you will see that if your relationship stands the test of time.
I've been with my sweetheart for 10 years. He's not perfect, but he is perfect to me.

I think that if he is a fun loving guy he would like you for who you are and even if that is not perfect. if he is uptight and looking for a perfect girl than he is not perfect case he is smoe what of a jerk to not want to go out with you. if he likes you for who you are, act natural and if he likes you well, good luck! He should care enough about you to not act perfect around you and not let other people say she is not perfect about you. if he is truly right for you, he can be perfect!

I would go for it! Like you said, he sounds PERFECT! I wouldn't be too worried about what others think of me, and I would probably have some friendly competition with him over something. I think you should try it out, I mean why living your life wondering if it could have worked out?
