In my observation, the disciples of the all-caps variety of discourse are almost exclusively evangelical Christians.
But let's talk about this anger. Take something you find transparently imaginary and silly, like Star Wars. Now imagine that a majority of people in this country believe that George Lucas is a prophet, and His films are roughly akin to a documentary. And politicians, if they want to get elected, have to say that they believe in Han Solo and Chewbacca, and the miracle of their communication, and they film sanctimonious commercials in red sweaters about Life Day. And an influential group changed the Pledge of Allegiance so that it ended with "May the Force be with us." And Texas state school board members want Midichlorian Theory taught alongside evidence-based science. And football players thank the Light Side of the Force when they score two touchdowns and run for 186 yards. And if you say that it's just actors and soundstages, your parents might disown you. And Han-Shot-Firstists and Greedo-Shot-Firstists got involved in a bloody struggle that lasted ten years and claimed millions of lives.
Wouldn't you start being slightly peeved?

Romans a million: 21 - 32 supplies a competent description of ways we Christians have self belief it is sin. That being reported, i might never decide every physique...there 'sin' is not any worse or any further suitable than mine. If I have been you, i might concentration on John 3:sixteen. additionally, how God never judged even the adultery. in spite of the shown fact that, he did tell the adulterior to 'no longer' sin. So particular, I do have self belief it is a sin, yet concentration greater on how God loves us lots, we are able to even triumph over each and every sin.....even homosexuality

Probably because it sometimes seems like less of a discussion and more of a war . Can people, other mere mortals actually know anything for sure,if the answer is no,then no-one knows much,if the answer is yes then some get rather forceful with their answer's as they feel they know.If you take a peek into a few conflicts/wars even today, they are started, perpetuated by religious fervor. This does tend to make mere mortals fear religion as perverse.

i believe in a God, a power that is far greater than me. One that does not judge or condemn, one that is based in love not in some book, one that allows me to make choices, one that tells me it is better to help rather than push help away, and one that does not take offense if I judge or condemn someone. This is my right and this is my soul. So i am one of those that "can" get angry or bothered, (but not that often), by people cramming the bible down my throat or by people telling me that if i dont believe in the god they have that i will live some horrible life here and after. That's crap, and i think that if "your" God were to see all the ways that his name is used for personal prophetic gain like sorry a*s politicians; for leverage against "different" people ( i.e., gay/lesbians, immigrants, people who want their own spiritual paths, etc.); and not to mention the sanctity of religion being destroyed by "men of faith" raping and emotionally destroying young children's lives, i think that youre God would be rather upset to see what all these "so called" Christians have done with his name over the last 1000 years or so. and so when all that is out in the forefront, yes people do get upset when you mention bible or god, its their right. And anybody who wants to throw that " you have till your last breath" crap at me , they can stick it

I would like to know that myself.
An e-mail a got a few days ago said:
Isn't better to believe in God and do all you are supposed too, and find there is no God after your death. Than to not believe in God and at the end of your life find out God is real?

i have not ever answered any question about god with hostility. i only use caps to stress a certain word. maybe you have run across some of the crazies (BOTH sides have them) or maybe your questions were insulting. it would help if you posted a link to some of these questions so we could see if you are really the persecuted or the persecutor.
either way, some people will get mad when they discuss religion. you should hang out in politics for a few minutes, you'd be glad to come back to r&s!

It is also much the same attitude, etc from Christians who don't wish to discuss the possibility that their religion is in error and distorted - because it does not make sense or add up - in terms of logical and reasonable thought, etc.
How history does not back up what Christianity preaches to us all, how science fails to agree with Christianity, etc.
In short you have to ignore your common sense and reasoning, when it comes to the Bible and Christianity - and most people are not willing or comfortable with doing just that.

Those that don't believe in God's existence just simply despise the fact that they're being confronted with the truth and so, they're hostility is their way of blowing off steam when the truth hits 'em.

I'm really not sure. I mean, it is religion and spirituality. Obviously there will be a lot of debate on things, and there will be people from all religions and all walks of life. To get angry because someone professes their faith and believes in something that they do not is stupid in my opinion.

Matthew 5:10-12 (New International Version)
New International Version (NIV)
Copyright © 1973, 1978, 1984 by International Bible Society
10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
"Nuff, said?"
