I went through a lot of the same stuff you are going through. Right now you are agnostic. But the title is the least of your worries.
I would just keep thinking about it and whatever you decide is the truth, you will become comfortable with over time.

similar to my situation, i was once a christian but no longer am (and am 99% cconfident i will never become a christian again). I would say it is like losing a family member, whether they were actually alive or not is irrelevant, it leaves a gap in life. I believe time is the best thing, such a big part of ones life, when gone, will take time to get over. just take your time thinking it all through, work out what you do and do not believe.if you believe there may be a god/god's that rules out being an atheist. if you believe that god is not the god the Christians believe in your not a christian. do not worry too much, IF we are both wrong i would feel confident that I would be brought back before i die. interesting thing though, as a christian i never believed in hell, there is a serious contradiction with it and the old testament for a start. in the end if it is gods will we be saved, who are we to resist and if not what can we do about it? just live your life however you feel you should or would like to.
Nice answer Lion of Judah, debateable but still a very good answer,
thumbs up for you :)

You used to not compromise Gods word did you? Man is destoying the world we live in with the choices that they make. God isn't the one to blame. Then one compromise will lead to another and another. This is what causes us to get away from the truth. Everyone has their doubts from time to time, but please don't make the mistake of locking a real true God out of your life because the rest of the world is trying to pull you into their sin. I assure you God is real and merciful, he hates death, hate, and killing. Most of these causes are man made not god made. He can help and is more than able to change this world. But he made it new once, and recreated it all. Why should he do it again if we are the ones who destroy it and the people in it? Like someone who smokes for 40 years and gets cancer. Should God heal them when they knew it causes cancer? I know not all situations are like that, and some you just stand back and you don't know why God doesn't do something. But there is a reason and purpose to everything that has happened, and he wouldn't let you go through something you cannot bear. Good luck and God Bless. Don't lose faith you are stronger than you think.

Becca, I strongly suggest counseling again. A good therapist will help you with your depression. You are very fortunate to be able to live with your Dad. Trust me, you are not the only young adult living with a parent. Do you have any hobbies that may be marketable? A craft that you might be able to sell? A need that you can provide that someone else lacks? Child care for working parents. A lot of people work full-time and need someone to do the things that they don't have the time for. In addition to child care, some people are looking for folks that can cook and/or clean house. You can also be a personal shopper/personal assistant. It's hard to believe, but there are people out there that don't have time to pick up their own dry-cleaning or run simple errands. I'm sorry for your health problems. It's a shame, but pick yourself and dust yourself off. Take control of your future. (I'm not trying to sound harsh -- I don't mean it that way.) If you can't find a "traditional" job -- take the bull by the horns and create your own. It sounds as though your Dad is very supportive -- see if he will help you. Good luck Becca. This is a whole new year -- a fresh start if you will. {{HUGS}}

When I went through a place similar to where you are now, I labeled myself "Unorthodox Nothing I Particular". It was not a very comfortable label, but a fair description of where I was at the time.
Perhaps in time, you will find a way to reconcile your experiences with your Christian faith. Many people do. I didn't. That was difficult, but in the long run, it was okay.
Worrying about labels never did me a bit of good. Try not to worry so much about what to call yourself. Focus on sorting out what you believe and finding the teachers who speak to you.
I hope that you find what you are looking for, or at least what you need.
Blessed be!

If you are just not sure then you are considered agnostic in most cases.
Many atheists start off just as you did. I was raised a believer too. When I questioned I was told to "just have faith". Since that didn't answer anything I kept looking on my own and I never came up with even a shred of evidence to support there being a god.

You have to believe, and your faith will be strenghthened by hearing the word of God,and we go thru alot of traumtic experiences that test our faith and sometimes we lose it,just get back down on your kness and ask God to help you doubt is the opposite of faith and thats from the enemy do not accept it Jesus is always with you just ask him to refresh you, fiorst it will start by asking for forgiveness of all your sins and then asking god to come ionto your life and take over and then give him all your troubles and a he will step in if you feel like talking feel free to e-mail me at Llisadrew@yahoo.com

I have hit many hard times in my life, I spent years(many years) going from feeling very confused to confident and then back to zero again. I know that you asked for no quotes, but I'm going to remind you of something. Once you belong to God threw Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross, "no one can remove you" That means you can't lose your salvation any more that you can earn it. And your feelings of wonder.... how can God let these things happen, well, this world belongs to Sin. And we make it the way it is by our free choice. I know its hard somtimes, but Blind faith is nesesary because we can't understand why things happen the way they do. Jesus Christ is the light at the end of all of this and very often we have to know to be still and know that he is God.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to guide you and shed light where there is darkness.
If I had not focussed on God and kept focusing on the things I used to, I'd be dead or in Jail. It wasn't until I started looking to Christ that my life fell into place. I gave God the lead and try everyday to let him stear. My life's far from perfect, but I know that He's in control and He has a perfect plan for me and mine. I know that there is hate all around and sadness, but I also know that if we love and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, become a member of a Body of Christ, and tell people of Christs love and sacrifice for us, Then I'm doing my job and so will you be.Satan loves to keep this world's garbage right in front of you. Throw it back in his face. In the end, ALL KNEES SHALL BOW AND ALL TOUNGES CONFESS.
Jesus loves you, and lives within all who are saved. Let him take charge and have faith that he's in control.
Your a Christian if you've accepted Jesus as your Savior. Evan when you don't understand why things happen.

God gave us a great gift , free will ; he wants us to choose him freely not be robotic in response to him ; do you want someone to love you b/c someone told them to love you?? No; b/c it then has no meaning; God doesn't cause evil, man does in his exercise of free will; God doesn't cause it but promises to be there for you if it ever does; stuff that happens to people is generally by some choice as well; anyone that wants change can have it ; you can't blame God for the short comings of people including family ; does a parent reward bad behavior , NO; you are God's creation whether you want to accept that or not; do you stop loving family if you don't get your way, No; if you do you are spoiled? Do you stop loving God b/c you are spoiled ; he has a plan and after creating even man who can't even figure ourselves out , you doubt God b/c you didn't get your way.
