I have not signed mt contract yet, but I will more than likely go to MH-60 or MH-47 mos 15. If anyone can shed any more light on those MOS's I'd appreciate it. And if anybody knows weather I can get a contract to join the 160 SOAR before I leave for the Warrior Transition Course that'd be great too. Thanks everyone.

Nope.

The 160th selects its own people.

You will go to a regular unit to finish your OJT training.

Then you can volunteer and be interviewed.

The 160th SOAR seeks the Army's best-qualified aviators and support soldiers. Officers volunteer and enlisted are volunteer or assigned by the US Army Human Resources Command. All receive intensive training upon joining the 160th. But after you go through basic/AIT you are either going to warrant officer school or OCS, depending on weather your going officer or warrant. After that then you have through your flight school & then after that you can try & volunteer but remember, this is the best aviators in the US military, your going to have some stiff competition from people who have been aviators for years & have a lot of flight time. Don't try & rush it, being in SOAR is rough, your going to need a lot of flight time to be ready. It's also an extremely competitive SOF because it doesn't have that many slots open for new SOAR aviators, not to mention the already highly experienced aviators all ready trying out. All I'm trying to say is, just focus on getting through basic/AIT, warrant officer/OCS, & flight school. Get a couple of years as MH-60/MH-47 experience before you try SOAR. Also, no you cannot get SOAR in your contract, sorry.

You can try. They'll either put it in there or not. I personally don't like your chances.
