to all of you who are faint of heart, back in the 1950's all the kids pulled their own baby teeth by string attached to the tooth and to the door, then slammed the door till the tooth finally came out. I suppose those kids who were squeemish their fathers probably used that string and a quick pull or used pliers, although pliers were always too large to fit in my mouth.

Yes a couple of times, but not using a bit of string etc. If a tooth becomes loose and I can wobble it about with my finger, without any pain, it means no nerves there. You need a firm grip on it and just pull, upwards for the bottom lot, downwards for the top lot not side ways or forward or back ward, or you could leave the root in there. Mind you dont swallow the pliers, that could lead to complications.

Yes, I once tied a string from my tooth to a doorknob, slammed the door, it swung back open, hit me in the mouth and knocked out the wrong tooth! Just a joke..smile LOL

Since there are roots to adult teeth, I seriously doubt this would work. It isn't like trying to pull out a baby tooth. You would need a pair of pliers.

Yes, plus my brother once drug me around the house with my tooth tied to a string . . . It was so bizarre. I was only 8 years old . . . But I can still remember it.

I know two people in the town I live in who pulled their own teeth with pliers.

After experiencing a botched root canal, I completely understand their desperation.

When I was a kid I use to twist and twist my baby teeth until they came out. Now I am a total wimp about teeth. I put off dentist visits for months.

Oh yeah. Big time. From tooth and the doorknob to using a drill. I've tried it all. When I was young of course :)

Yes!!!! I do know three people who tied their tooth to a door knob. Their names were Moe, Larry and Curly. It sounds like you're following right in their footsteps.

Good for you!!!!!
