Does anyone else out there believe Brandon Vera would be the best LHW in the UFC if he dropped weight? I think he would would be better than all of the other UFC LHW out there including Rampage, Axe murder and shogun.

Vera is a incredible Heavyweight. He beats up decent guys very quick and his style is very fun to watch.. He is very young and lacks the experience to be at the Top though.. There is a big reason that most fighters that are either Champions or number 1 contenders are over 27yrs old and are veterans. He IS the future though.

I honestly think that the best weight for vera is the welterweight division. i am pretty sure just by looking at is build and body style he would have no problem loosing the weight and walking around comfortably at 185 or so and drop weight to 170 for fights. There is just to much talent right now in the lhw and with the middleweight there might not be alot of talent but the ones that are, are really talented and he wouldn't stand a chance there either..

um lets see Rampage, Wanderlei, Forrest Griffin, Liddell,
Shogun, Dan Henderson when he moves back up in weight,
even Thiago Silva who just destroyed Houston Alexander
would probably be on the long list of guys that could potentially beat Brandon Vera so thats gonna be a definative
NO!!! he wouldnt be the best LHW in the UFC.

I wouldn't assume he'd be that dominant in LHW considering the talent in that weight class. I do believe he belongs there since he's a small heavyweight and doesn't seem to fare too well against top tier opponents.

No. I think he's good and I like his personality, but I don't think he compares to Rampage, Wanderlei, Shogun, or Liddell. Not only do I think he's not the top contender, but I don't think he's in the top 5.

I think has some skills but he's not a top contender. He's all talk and way over hyped (he doesn't even have a win over a top 15 fighter).

Like from his own mouth..."Don't believe the hype, believe what you see..."

No I'm pretty sure he'd get beaten by all of those, probably pretty badly too. His slogan is perfect. "Don't believe the hype, believe what you see." Exactly. I don't believe he would do anything to have a title run at 205, based on what I've seen of him.

I have seen nothing to make me think that way. Has he fought at that weight before?
