Actually it's the tilt of the Earth, not the elliptical form of the orbit, that creates the seasons. The Church is on record as claiming that elliptical orbits are impossible because they're not perfect circles, and God makes nothing which isn't perfect. The Church even had people killed over this (by kings who were subservient to the Pope, since they're too cowardly to do the dirty work themselves). Look up 'Ptolemy,' 'Copernicus,' 'heliocentric,' 'Kepler,' and especially 'Girodano Bruno' for all the fun details.

sun's elliptical orbit?
1. Note: ALL orbits in space are elliptical. A "circular orbit" is still elliptical, just the distance between the foci of the ellipse is zero.
2. What exactly is the sun orbiting and how is its orbit of any significance? How is its "elliptical orbit" significant?
"Seasons" on earth are the physical result of the ANGLE between the EARTH'S axis of rotation and the plane of the EARTH'S orbit of the sun (not the sun's orbit).
Maybe I'm taking your statement too literally, but I can't make any sense of it.

He is the Sun, The Sun has Risen indeed. That is why celebrate it every year on December 25th with a feast and a party
