Myself, I do not believe whole heartedly in Astrology, but I do find it interesting. I think that the traits assigned to any given sign can apply to anyone at different times. I fit some of the traits of my signs, but not all by any means. I feel this is probably true for most people. My best friend is very into astrology and studies it, so I wondered

The astrological calendar is the oldest calendar known to man. You can find references to it in most of the worlds religions througout history.
If you are talking about using astrology as a means of divination then I think it has the same merit as any other form of divination. That is to say that it is a way to focus the intuition of the diviner and has no intrinsic power of its own.
I find neither idea offensive.

No! There is no place for astrology in modern society.
The ancients had no understanding of the vastness of the universe. The stars we see in the sky that form the constellations are by line of sight only. The signs of the zodiac are found along the ecliptic and therefore observable throughout the world from both hemispheres. Thus easily recognizable. However, the proximity of the stars to each other, are on the whole totally unrelated. From Earth, if we observe for example in any constellation, their stars are often great distances between each other and form no relationship with the others in that same constellation whatsoever. The only relationship they have to each other, are as mentioned a line of site observation. They form great navigational purposes but nothing else other than look great.
The myths associated with the zodiacal signs change from nationality to nationality. For example, the Australian Aboriginal has a totally different set of myths to that of Europeans for example. Native Americans also have a different set of myths and constellations again. Also ancient Chinese as well as many many more different combinations.
There are many other factors that debunk this uneducated and outdated money grabbing practice.
Therefore I state again, there is no place for astrology in modern society whatsoever.

It is the forerunner of Astronomy. There are many astrological references in the bible. If you believe in a sky god then it would seem natural to believe in the sky he supposedly created wouldn't you think? The only astrology that would make sense then would be the birth chart. It would contain all the aspects of the personality based on the positions of the planets and signs of the zodiac. At one time I actually taught astrology so I do love it but understand the truth behind its meaning.

the point i imagine they intend to make isn't that there is not any longer any substance to Astrology, because some thing we locate is because God meant for us to locate it, yet extra so as that your conception might want to fall on your faith and under no circumstances interior the celebrities which some human beings persist with, study, and count number on a lengthy way too adamantly. And this this fake route is sacrilegious. you're also excellent that there are countless parallels, yet undergo in innovations that those parallels are guy-made. What I advise by it is they were created by guy and under no circumstances God. to characteristic to this the Bible itself has been rewritten and edited so many times in the approach the years. a lot has been taken out, and this kind of enormous volume of different sections were edited. between the most important fantasy is Dec 25 because the beginning of Jesus (PBUH) which isn't a actuality. no man or woman knows at the same time as he became born. and also you're also excellent on your remark that Christianity has countless pagan symbols yet you ought to seem at how Christianity became formed and hint it roots extra lower back to the time, places, and individuals that began the circulate. I.e. Greeks, Romans..and so on. seem up the history and also you'll see how they followed and protected most of the beliefs and practiced of the time.

Astrology? Well...
It says that all people born at certain times of the year have similar characteristics, and not only that, they are compatible or not compatible with all other people who were born at other certain times of the year... i.e if you were born in August you are stubborn - and don't get involved with someone born in February because they are wanderers.
But the worst part is it creates false faith.

Astrology is a superstitious pseudoscience. I am disgusted at how many people read and actually believe their horoscopes, as though somehow the time of year you passed through your mother's vaginal canal, or the position of planets somehow affects your daily life.

Astrology, no. Because it's based on superstitions and there doesn't seem to be any evidence that it's true. No, it doesn't offend my beliefs. I think it's really interesting, because I'm into astronomy.

Scientific studies of astrology have shown it to have no predictive power at all - as expected. So no, I don't believe in it.

No. I do believe that the God of Israel put the Gospel message in the zodiac. Not for fortune telling, though.

Not at all. Enormous balls of burning hydrogen trillions of miles away don't seem to have much affect on my daily life.
