I'm looking for a reasonably priced Riesling that is on the sweeter side. Can someone make some recommendations on a sweet riesling?

Chateau Ste Michelle Reisling is a pretty decent domestic Riesling. It's a pretty good place to start, but it might give you the wrong impression of Rieslings. A good German Riesling is a Piesporter Goldtropfchen Kabinett or an Urziger Wurzgarten Kabinett. While sweet, they have a depth, complexity, and structure that the domestic Rieslings do not. There are varying sweetnesses of Rieslings. Domestic Rieslings don't really have these levels of sweetness - you get what you get. But German Rieslings are as follows, from least sweet to most sweet. Kabinett Feinherb - Least sweet (the Feinherb can be a little tough to find) Kabinett Spatlese Auslese These are the typical sweetnesses. But you have some that get much sweeter. These are typically dessert wines and usually pretty expensive. Beerenauslese Trocken Beerenauslese Eiswein You mentioned Chardonnays. I don't find Chardonnays to be very sweet at all. But the White Zinfandels are on part with Rieslings for sweetness, but not as "complex" as Rieslings. Pick up the Piesporter Goldtropfchen or Urziger Wurzgarten - they'll run you $16-$20 and you'll see what Rieslings have to offer.

My favorite Rieslings are Relax in a beautiful blue bottle and Chateau Ste. Michelle. Both are very reasonably price and sweet and delicious!

Late harvest reisling is very sweet - right up there with Eiswein... the 2 best I've had are Hogue ($9-$12/bottle) and Black Star Farms ($10-$14/bottle)

Boordy Vineyards. A Maryland based winery. This is my FAVORITE wine by them. It's sweet and smooth.

They also have an Eisling (dessert wine) if you're interested in something REALLY sweet.
