It is not necessary to agree with the philosophy of others in order to consider it important to understand them. Bibles are a way to do that.

For a long time I used a New English Bible , I liked it because it would say things in a very different way from other Christian Bibles and had some very nice drawings , it was fun during Biblical discussions.

Later on in life when I did my serious study into the Christian allegorical texts I used the (n)KJV , a Catholic Bible and an NIV Bible , I used the NIV to write most of my notes , since that was the version my Fuddy Christian friends tended to use.

I do not have a Koran nor the book of Mormon , but I have seen a few documentaries on these , as they saying goes , if you have seen one , you have seen all the Abrahamic Myth stories.

These days I generally use only my NIV Bible as reference because it has all the notes I made during my intense study. Strangely enough , the more I studied the 1st century texts , the fewer Christians friends I had ! That’s life I guess.

I am agnostic leaning towards atheist.

I have several versions of the bible, a book of mormon, the tao te ching, the necronomicon (egyptian book of the dead), I used to have a Koran but I think someone stole it.

I've read the bible from cover to cover several times, the book of mormon at least once all the way through, the tao te ching several times, the necronomicon too, and the koran at least once.

They all contain bits and pieces of wisdom if you are able to keep an objective standpoint and not accept superstitious nonsense. If nothing else, they stand on their own as works of historical fiction.

I have a bible left over from my believer years. I keep it around for reference. I used to write notes on the side of the pages explaining stuff. I use it sometimes to point out inconsistencies sometimes. I also use it to point out how little most xtians really know what is in the bible. The vast majority don't even live their lives according to what the bible instructs. Good grief if they are going to get all fired up about ''living the life'' they should at least do it right.

I have a bible...as you know what they say about agnostics or atheists we always turn to god in times of trouble. And I always want to see what I'm missing or where I have gone wrong in my life by reading some of the books and chapters.

I live by this creed Faith Hope and Charity...the greatest being charity or as the modern day version of the St James Bible says the greatest being love.

Non-believers included?

I have the Book of Mormon, several Bibles (various translations), Catholic Bible, a book of Catholic prayers, a book of Jewish prayers

I also have prayers and rituals from reconstruction Roman paganism

Rituals, blots and research on reconstruction heathenism - that's my religion and I'm constantly researching and learning.

The others: research, what I grew up with, and a desire to learn (also to know what the hell I'm talking about and what is right or wrong with other people's arguments)

Added: I forgot the Satanic Bible, Satanic Witch, the Devil's Notebook, Greek Mythology, Roman mythology, Celtic mythology, American Indian mythologies (Hopi, Navaho)

I own several versions of the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and I am in the process of trying to obtain a copy of the Bible in Hebrew as well as a Qu'ran in Arabic. Later on I may get a copy of Paul's writings in Greek. I read them as I would a copy of the Iliad or the Poetic Eddas: they're just mythology. I also take note of the sheer amount of violence each contains.

I have 11 christian bibles - 1 children's, 1 student I bought for college classes and 9 family bibles with genealogical information written in them. I have various books on eastern religions, various books on paganism, a Qu'ran, The Book of Mormon & a Satanic Bible.

The various christian bibles were given to me because I'm the family genealogist but I've taken plenty of classes in comparative religions and find the topic as a whole interesting.
