Vaclav Hasik married Terezie Chochola in Chicago IL on 20 May 1901. In the April 1910 census, Terezie/Theresia is listed as the wife of Joseph Kopta with 2 children, Joseph age 8 and Antionette age 6. However, Terezie and Joseph Kopta married 20 Aug 1910 in Chicago IL.

On 10 March 1911, Terezie purchased a house at 7805 Drexel Ave, Chicago IL in her name only. The house was paid in full on 16 Jan 1913.

In Feb 1941, the children submitted delayed birth registrations as Joseph Hasik and Antionette Hasik. They said their father was James Hasik, locksmith, born in Bohemia. They were born at 7538 Maryland Ave, Chicago.

My guess is between Aug 1902 (nine months before Antionette was born) and Aug 1910 (the Kopta marriage) Vaclav left his family. I think they stayed in contact since the most likely source for the house money in 1911 was a death/insurance payment.

I can't find a death for Vaclav in Cook County IL.

Hi I did a search for you on Ancestry.com and found a few things of interest there seems to have been 2 Vaclav ( James ) Hasik ... They might ( more than likely ) are related... So check that out and On the Familysearch.org ( Latter Day Saints ) I find he passed away before 1910 and his daughter was born 1903 so I would assume that he passed between 1904 ish to 1909 ish since there is another child born to him ... You can write to the county clerk in the area he lived at and get a death certificate they run about 27.00 ... Also Joseph married Antionette not Terezie in 1910 according to the LDS site which would have made her only 7 and him 43 wow that can't be right .. But look at what they have there there are 2 of them listed I hope this helped and good luck...

2. Researching: HASIK, SCHIFFNER
We have found that Anton Hasik came from someplace in Bohemia, near Prague. He was born in1856 and he came to the U.S. on the vessel called the "Main" from Bremen, Germany in 1882. He was married to Antonie (Schiffner) Hasik and they had 2 girls, Maria and Lucia. We would like to know if he had any siblings and his parents' name. If you can not provide us with this information, any information would be appreciated (see submitter's email address on website, www.iarelative.com/czech/sea1098c.htm)
