Sure, I might have told a white lie here or there, and I usually fill a rental car up with regular, but did Jesus really need to die for me to make that right?

Well if Jesus died for Adam and Eve's sin, then I really don't owe him anything, do I?

There are 2 doctrines:
1- The Fall of Man: Humans committed sin in the garden of Eden, so they now know what is right from what is wrong. The catholics call it original sin. That sin has been passed down from parents to children. On top of that, there are also the sins you committed in your personal life. Jesus died to clear up all of that so you can go to heaven, otherwise you will be damned for good.

2- Another doctrine claims that what happened in Eden was actually a good thing. So now, Humans have the power to know what is good from wrong. By work, trial and error, intelligence, free thought, the creative power of the mind, science and the control of nature's laws etc... Humans will gradually grow to become closer to God.

Original sin - adam and eve. have you ever heard the saying "the sins of the father shall be visited upon the son"? that means that because of adam and eve, all humans are born into sin (from a Christian perspective, then, Jesus died to absolve you of that sin and give you a chance to live a life with a chance at resurrection).

Jesus supposedly died for the sins of all humanity. When I was a boy and would fidget in class, the nuns would say that I was pounding nails into Jesus. They never asked whether screwing up the mind of a seven year old was doing the same thing.

Aren't you just naive. Everybody sins, more that you really know. Do you ever curse? That is a sin. Have you had sex without being married? That is a sin. You said that you like, cheat the system. GOD even knows your every thought. Your negative and not loving mental opinions. There are so many sins, just open your eyes to them. It is human nature to do some of these things, I am not condemning you.

If he had not had died then every bad thing that we did we would not have a chance to change it. He died for every sin that we could do. He was a perfect man that had never sinned, that is why he was born unto a virgin. You are born unto sin so from the monment we are born we are sinners. He died so that we have the chance to go to heaven and ask he him forgive us of our mstakies and do right.

After Adam and Eve sinned and lied to God, every human who was born thereafter was born of sin. (How ya like that guilt trip ?) But since he died for us, we can now be born clean and pure.

If you don't really have faith in the religion, you won't understand it - esp. if you haven't read the bible. But in a small nutshell - there ya go.

When you consider that those who sin get everlasting hell, why take a chance. Jesus had to forgive everyone up front since god is so vengeful against those who upset him on any given day. Don't you think that white lies are so evil that they deserve everlasting hell and need forgiveness? If not, then christianity does not want you anyway.

Every sin you commit is enough for Jesus to have had to die. Either that or you could never stand before God.

Adam and eve were the orginal sinners and Jesus died for us to save our sins...Remember Eve and Adam were in the garden and God told them not to eat the apples, and they did..He dis obeyed God's request and their eyes were open to more things than God wanted them to know about.

If you are feeling guilty for your white lies, go to confession and abslove yourself
