They're just teasing I'm sure. Probably not use to seeing the younger one drinking you know? Its different knowing and seeing.

He is acting concerned only because "one glass" means nothing when it comes to alcohol. Take wine for instance: one 5 oz. glass of wine has the same or more alcohol in it as one 12oz beer. Next time you get the chance, look at the alcohol content on a bottle of wine, beer, gin, what ever. "One glass" can mean so many things. Depending on what that one glass contains, It can even mean the difference between being over the limit to drive or not.
Otherwise, I'm not sure why they behaved the way that they did. They'll get over it with time.

I'm a psychiatric nurse and in my line of work-this sounds like transference. It sounds like your brother-in-law may very well care about you and not want to see you drink too much, but it could also be that as long as the attention was on you-he didnt have to look at himself. You've said you know how much you can drink, especially when you're eating at the same time. Your brother-in-law really needs to mind his own business and turn that finger around that he's pointing at you. If this kind of behavior continues, maybe have a talk with your sister-who knows you better and ask her to have a little talk with her husband.

I know this is gonna sounds weird but tell your family to be more open and to relax. Also they might just be joking around. Oh with my family it's nothing but drinking man, I drink with everyone. The first time I got drunk was with my dad, when I was 17 my mom use to get me drunk all the time. Now I get to go to bars with them and it's really good that they keep an open mind to it.
Good Luck

Maybe they were being protective?
I know my brother gets like that when I'm drinking despite me being of age and everything at 18
Your bro in law sounds like someone who thinks he knows best and maybe he thought that you just shouldn't drink
If he's known you for a long time maybe it was shocking to him to see you drinking and admitting that you drink more then just wine

I think you are paying too much attention to what someone else thinks and overanalyzing the situation. If I were you, I would just say cheers and not care too much what my brother-in-law says or thinks especially considering he doesn't sound too bright. One glass of wine with food is not going to affect you negatively unless you are on meds or 2 years old. lol I think he may just have been messing w/ you because you are easy to mess with. Just be an adult about it. It's all about moderation...if you have that down you're set. Happy Holidays

If you are the younger sibling, then it is kind of like a right of passage. I do it to my little brother all the time. At least I used too. No big deal, just busting your chops.

He is obviously the "light weight". Maybe he thinks since he can't handle his own booze that you can't either. My bros are a blast to drink with. My mom is even fun to drink with. Find a different family member to hang out with when you drink at family functions.

Maybe he's a lightweight and he doesn't want anyone around that will try to outdrink him. It could be embarrassing for him. I don't drink around family because I usually just drink with friends. My family doesn't really put me socially in a situation to drink. They don't even drink with meals. So, I always abstain around them.

It could be he spiked your drink and was waiting for you to become tired or hyper. Unfortunately you may appear to him as an easy target...but since your sis is in your company I wouldn't worry too much!!
