From what I understand creationists believe what they believe because the Bible dictates it. When asked about Dinosaurs one creationist says "That's God testing your faith" yet the bible says "God is not like man, He does not deceive" isn't a test like this a deception? Wouldn't that then negate the belief?

The Bible is silent on dinosaurs, much like it is on formal mathematics. Does this mean these things cannot exist? No, it merely means scripture has not spoken on them.

I see no conflict here.

Well, the one thing that you pointed out about the Bible and dinosaurs, you are wrong about. The Bible does, in fact speak of dinosaurs. Read Job 40 and 41. Just because the Bible calls them by a different name than you do, doesn't mean it's not in there. Just like the Trinity. It doesn't actually say the word "trinity", but the concept is there, all the way through the Bible.
A test is not a deception. You might want to look that up also.
You are making statements about something you know very little about to people who do. You might want to be a little more prepared when you do that. God Bless

Most of what we 'learn' about Dinosaurs is not evidence of their existence, we are told what has happened much as Christians are told about how the world was created.
I believe that Dinosaurs have existed, but the bones I have seen in museums could have been constructed by men for all I know. I have not seen prove, but I believe.
The bible states that God 'created every living creature that moves' that could include Dinosaurs.
But the Bible definds a day as the light period, and night as the dark period, and states everything was made in 6 days, which would include the Dinosaurs and man.
Many Christians do not accept the Bible means 6 days, but it defines the days as we define days, and the book could not have come direct from that which enabled all things, if it cannot even say what it means.

Respectfully, how can you say the Bible contradicts creationism when the very first verse.. the VERY FIRST words are "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth"

About the dinosaurs. We do not know how long the animal creation came before the human creation. We DO know animals came first (yeah yeah, Chapter 2... that chapter just puts the creation in order of priority of the creation). We also do not know how much time elapsed between the appearance of each species. So Dinosaurs could have easy been created and disappeared long before humans ever inhabited the planet. How they would "test our faith" is beyond me." I'm sure they were magnificent and that they served a purpose we don't fully understand.

The bible does not conrtadict creation. Its just the creationist you talked to was uninformed. The bible talks about dinosaurs. They arent called dinosaurs because the term didnt come about until 1841 and the King James Version was translated in 1611 before there was the term dinosaur. The bible does mention dragons several times and in Job chapter 40 it talks about Behemoth which moves his tail like a cedar tree and it talks about him drinking up the river.
There are many ancient civilizations that talk about dragons and the great flood. Science is incorrect in saying dinosaurs lived millions of years before man. They lived at the same time.

While I can't say that dinosaurs never existed for certain, we do know that animals become extinct for many reasons. If they did exist, they don't now. There are many animals named in the bible, that we don't know what they are today. Some of them could have been dinosaurs. There is no animal called a behemoth (Job 40:15); there is no animal called a leviathan today (Job 41:1), but they are mentioned in the bible. So who knows. But what does any of that have to do with living holy?

I wouldn't say it all "negates belief". But it does show the contradiction in trying to believe that the words of the Bible can be treated as literal history, AND that God doesn't deceive people. Because the bottom line is that a literal translation of Genesis contradicts what we see in the real world.

There is much mention of dinosaurs in the Bible! Have you never heard of Leviathan or Behemoth? Or a fish (not a whale) large enough to swallow a man? Reptiles continue to grow as long as they are alive and even human beings lived as long as almost 1000 years before the Canopy came down in the Flood of Noah! After the Flood, there was not sufficient food for larger reptiles and humans and other mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles all began to live for shorter periods of time, once the more harmful radiation from the sun were able to penetrate the thinner, less-rich, changed atmosphere. To say nothing of natural disasters, disease, starvation, harmful mutations, etc. Even so, Abraham was able to father two children after his 90th birthday and Sarah was able to bear a child after her 90th! As late as Moses' time some people lived many, many years - Moses, himself, lived 120 years!

Creationism...such a misused word...must the the new word of the day thing around here...

Creationism can mean nearly anything to do with the creation of something tangible...

Why do people believe in divine creation even with the evidence of dinosaurs???...nothing about dinosaurs disproves divine creation or destruction..so you'll have to come up with a different argument...

"anybody knows which you may not have a river devoid of rain." God does no longer function in the barriers of guy. human beings additionally will enable you know that maximum cancers isn't curable and does no longer disappear. yet after being stated a hopeless case with merely months to stay, my brother's better half's mom is completely maximum cancers-unfastened 5 YEARS later. i think of you may desire to envision the Bible extra heavily till now you're making such assumptions. Genesis a million:6-8 6And God pronounced, enable there be a FIRMAMENT in the midst of the waters, and enable it DIVIDE THE WATERS FROM THE WATERS. 7And God made the firmament, and DIVIDED THE WATERS that have been under THE FIRMAMENT FROM THE WATERS that have been ABOVE THE FIRMAMENT: and it became into so. 8And God pronounced as the firmament Heaven. And the nighttime and the morning have been the 2nd day. You forgot to show the mist, too. Genesis 2:4-6 4These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth whilst they have been created, in the day that our lord god made the earth and the heavens, 5And each and every plant of the sphere till now it became into in the earth, and each herb of the sphere till now it grew: FOR our lord god HAD no longer brought about IT TO RAIN UPON THE EARTH, and there became into no longer a guy to till at last the floor. 6But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the entire face of the floor. "...issues have been given so super (Giants and Dinosaurs) through fact no element of them became into ever washed away by ability of showers" the place did you get THAT from? Did you no longer examine the sons of God coming unto the daughters of adult adult males? Genesis 6:4 "4There have been giants in the earth in those days; and likewise after that, whilst the sons of God got here in unto the daughters of adult adult males, and that they bare little ones to them, an identical became amazing adult adult males that have been of previous, adult adult males of renown." And there have been extensive human skeletons got here upon. As for the super-long lifespans, with the canopy above and the mist from under, the climate became into needless to say very diverse than post-flood earth. It became into extra advantageous for human beings and animals, and for this reason, they lived longer (or will you deny that, too?). "definitely everyone can state what they like. If it quite is not int he Bible, it somewhat is unBiblical." certainly. I agree. it somewhat is why you may desire to reconsider your query and examine the Bible some extra till now you're making such "assertions".
