The father of the Dominguez family said it's their faith in God helped them survive their time in the cold mountains of California.
Is there anything wrong with that? Is there something wrong with him publically stating that?

I don't see anything wrong with it...and I don't think you can say it isn't true either.

He said it was HIS FAITH in God...not God himself (according to your question, I haven't read the story yet). Without his Faith...he could of easily given up. In situations like that, you need something to drive you and give you hope.

Their faith in God may have saved their life. Just because God doesn't exist doesn't mean having faith that he does can't alter your life. I believe in the power of the mind and if you tell yourself over and over that an invisible man is going to save you then you might trick your body into enduring.

It is wise to give the credit to God, and say it out loud!

No, there's nothing wrong with saying it if that's what he really believes. It doesn't make it true, but maybe it makes him feel good.
